About / Resume

Design, development, data, and multimedia from the ground up.

Erik Summers

Erik Summers is the founder of LiquidGooey Graphic & NUMERIK LLC. With decades of experience, he's driven by work that not only meets a client’s needs, but exceeds expectations.

Erik is skilled across numerous platforms such as PHP/MySQL, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, multimedia delivery, database schemas, interface layouts, and LAMP-server environments, and enjoys turning complex information into usable systems.

Erik's History

"I started from the ground up in 1998 with 'Windows Notepad' and a copy of 'HTML in 24 hours'. What began as a hobby quickly became a digital addiction. Static websites were fine for the late 1990s, but dynamic, datadriven platforms brought sites to life. I started with CGI and flat-file databases and quickly moved into PHP, MySQL, jQuery, Flash (RIP), and Photoshop to develop full data-driven platforms."

Award #1 - IIA

While working in tech support at Quest Diagnostics, I served as the primary/sole interface designer on the 'Quest On Demand' doctor/patient platform. In 2002, that application won 1st place in an International Innovation Competition from IDC against nine countries.

Award #2 - W3

Facefinder.com, a job portal for actors, models, and production staff, won a W3 award in 2006. It is also where FastCast and SmartCast were developed as part of a data-driven casting system. Now outdated, Facefinder.com is NUMERIK/LiquidGUI's next project to bring back to life.

Always innovating

In 2004, I discovered streaming video, both live and compiled. Within weeks, I developed BSpot.tv, a live streaming system that helped a non-profit organization stream from the plains of North Dakota to congressional offices in Washington, DC.

Over the years, the theme has stayed consistent: simplify the experience, use technology intelligently, and create systems that people can actually use. Below is a demonstration of a platform I developed that allowed simplistic, on the fly updates to websites most critical data.
